NACS Recommendations
- Maintain records of attendance, a daily journal of instruction, or lesson plans and a portfolio of materials containing samples of each student’s work.
- Students take standardized tests beginning in the fourth grade and every three years thereafter.
- Attend monthly faculty meetings that are designed to help in carrying out teaching and parenting responsibilities as well as to serve as a support group. During a school year (August through July), at least one parent is required to attend a minimum or three monthly faculty meetings. Each enrolled student is required to participate in at least one field trip or monthly activity (a faculty meeting is not a monthly activity) during the course of the school year. Family attendance at any graduation conducted by NACS is mandatory. To waive adherence to this policy of mandatory attendance, a written explanation acceptable to NACS administration must be placed in your enrollment file in the NACS office.
Termination of Enrollment
- Parents agree to notify NACS in writing when enrollment of any or all children is terminated.
- Administration reserves the right to dismiss any NACS faculty members and their students if in the administration’s judgment the attitudes or actions of the individual or his/her family endanger the unity of the school and/or endanger the rights of other homeschoolers.
- Failure to comply with the enrollment requirements stated herein will result in application denial or dismissal from NACS.
- As required by Alabama Code 16-28-7, NACS will notify the local Superintendent of any termination of enrollment.
- The Administration, after consultation with the West Huntsville Church of Christ elders and NACS faculty, may make modifications to this ministry as deemed necessary or appropriate.
